Lyle Lovett
This was the first drawing since George Strait that I drew for the sole purpose of creating art.  Most all of my previous drawings were either for a school assignment or a doodle that turned out to be all right.  I was trying to draw as little as possible to get the point across, foregoing a lot of detail.  In the process, though, I left a lot a white space, something that I'm not sure I like too much.  What I was trying to "capture" in Lyle Lovett was his free spirited Texas individualism.  I was also intrigued by his face that many consider unattractive but is not that way at all to me.  It has artistic qualities that go far beyond mere sex appeal.
